what is reiki?

Reiki is a gentle healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 1900s, developed by Mikao Usui. Rooted in meditation and spiritual practice, Usui Reiki was created to support balance and well-being through hands-on energy work.

Reiki works with the natural energy in and around your body. Just like we have a nervous system, we also have an energetic system—including energy centers (or chakras) that help us stay grounded and balanced. Stress, emotions, and life experiences can create blockages in this flow.

Blocked energy can show up as physical tension, emotional overwhelm, fatigue, or simply feeling “off.” Reiki helps restore flow and balance, supporting the body’s natural healing process.

In a session, you remain fully clothed while I gently place my hands on or just above you. Many people experience warmth, calm, or a deep sense of peace. Because I practice intuitively, Reiki sessions often include an energetic reading. I may receive impressions, sensations, or imagery that reflect what your body or energy is processing. I’ll share these insights afterward if they feel helpful and aligned.
